More Clear-out

The last bit of stuff were finally taken out from my room at UMMC. I did that last Sunday morning - when nobody were around. There plenty of garbage needed clearing in the end.

The corridor from my officeCareful out there. Seen at the third floor corridor. The second door walkway had been blocked.New coat of paint at Pasar Siti Khadijah. Yes, it was purple. The Academic Staff carpark was empty. This being a Sunday. As planned, I did not bump into anybody at all in the morning. UMMC as usual was having renovations again. This time, they were doing up Pasar Siti Khadijah - a new coat of paint and a new ceiling. It was fungus-laden anyhow and was in need replacing - badly ….

Afternoon Kenduri

I attended Zul Hilmi's doa selamat ceremony this afternoon. He was a Cardiologist from UMMC who recently quit. He was also the one who put the stent on my Dad-in-law last year. He had already started there a couple of weeks back.

Most of our colleague has yet to arrive. I was there early for the doa and to accompany my Dad-in-law. Zul seemed happy with how things went in the last couple of weeks, and I wished him the best of luck.

Milo Ais Time

After doing most of the clear-up in my room, I decided to have some drinks. It was a warm morning after all. I remembered Enzo on the floor above Trauma Center and went there. Despite being a public holiday, the place was still buzzing. And the milo ais was nice …….

A Quiet Day at the Office

I was hoping for a quiet day to sneak some stuff out from my room without bumping into anybody. Today seemed ideal, being a public holiday, but it turned out that there was a small party going on at the Faculty area. The place was buzzing and the cafeteria was opened.

I managed to get some stuff into the car and clear up the mess in my room but I decided against bringing along the hampers in my room. People might look at me funny if I were to do that. So, for the meantime, I was hoping that the party quieten down a bit after the Jumaat prayers.

As for this evening, it would be quiet night in, since Anita has an outing planned with her friends for her birthday. I would be left alone to babysit the boys. Expect mayhem!

Bring the Pasar Back!

Talking about renovations, when I was walking from the Menara Utama to Menara Timur yesterday, I realised that the main corridor linking the two were closed. There was a big sign blocking the way. It used to be main walkway for patient transfer. It turned out that there was a some renovation work going on at Pasar Siti Khadijah, a foyer at Menara Timur.

It was called a pasar - meaning market - because back when I first joined UMMC, once a month, usually after payday, there were stalls being erected there, selling clothes, foodstuffs, gifts and I used to enjoy going there to buy some pickles. I knew the nurses like the market, and so were the patients. I used to buy pickles and snacks for the nurses back then. Unfortunately, the market stopped operating three years back. Not sure why, but it was a crying shame.

So far I have seen that they have put on a coat of paintAt the moment, the foyer were used for indoor sports, patient gathering and assembly points. I'd say, bring the pasar back!
