Them Nippon Balls

Definitely colourful and attractive, located right in front of Fahrenheit towards the crossing to Pavilion, right between some building site.

I was sure it was sponsored by Nippon Paints, but this was the kind of colourful advertisement one didn't really mind. It made the area more distinctive with the rather sterile background during the MRT building around Bukit Bintang lately.

Looking at the exhibits closely, I noticed that each of the balls were made from different material. You had wwod, ceramic tiles, bigger tiles, cements and even glass. Clever and subtle. It showed that the paints could be used on any surface ...

Not sure for how long it was going to stay though. Better get snaps of them while they last ...

Lantern at Fahrenheit

As I walk towards Bukit Bintang from where I parked last Monday morning, I caught this exhibition at Fahrenheit 88 just across the road. Good thing I got my GR with me and got snapping away. They were holding a lantern festival there showcasing some work both local and from Taiwan.

Some really neat work there and definitely was a spectacle.

Since it was Monday, the crowd was pretty thin making taking photos unobtrusive. 20 minutes passed while I was exploring the place. Better rush through to settle my bill and have a quick lunch. I have a clinic later that afternoon.

Tokidoki is Italian?

Passing by Fahrenheit the other day, I couldn't help but notice some cute characters at the front entrance. I then ventured inside to find this collection of cute anime-like characters. I swore that they were Japanese.

When I reached home, I started reading about it while I was uploading the photos onto Flickr. They were created by an Italian designer, heavily influenced by the Japanese cutesy anime drawings. And they were extensive.

The one which caught my eye was the appropriately named Adios the Grim Reaper. On one hand, he carried an apple and on the scythe, he had a strawberry. Don't know how to make sense of that one, but cute none the less. Other characters also followed on the same vein.

There were unicorns, donuts and monkeys to describe a few. Best to just read about them on the web. It would make more sense there.

They had original arts and merchandise on sale at the foyer. I should have brought some but couldn't be asked to carry the purchase about. Maybe next time ...

Messages of Hope

During my walk yesterday around Bukit Bintang, I came across these boards for anyone to put their message on. It was for the #MH370. The plane was yet to be found. And everyone was getting edgy.

I saw a couple of those boards, one in front of Pavilion and the other at the entrance to Fahrenheit 88.

I could pick up some if them being written by foreigner. I guessed everybody shared the sentiment. I even saw one in Arabic. I picked up one of the leaflet and wrote a note as well.

What I out down on paper? Nothing special. But just leave it at that.

Across to Fahrenheit

I moved on after doing an initial sweep at taking photos at Pavilion foyer. I crossed the road from the fountain at the Bukit Bintang entrance which naturally took me to Fahrenheit. I thought I might as well have a quick peek.

Nothing fancy, but some cute decor. Animal theme and not just the horses. Neat. And less crowded than Pavilion.
