I'm Full

It has been a long day, a long day full of good eating. Lunch was with Anita, at La Bodega, and for the evening, we got some take outs from Al Rawsha in Kampung Pandan. Chicken Mendy with gee-ful of rice. I have to sweat out the calories soon. Jogging tomorrow afternoon perhaps. Sigh!

But, I was still to take my Mum out for dinner. Oh! Dear!

Alone at the Movies

I agreed to take Puan Anita out today as her personal chauffeur. But typical of her, "right, I don't want you to know what I'm shopping, so go do what you like!". Right! What should I do? A movie then. Why not?

The last time I went out to watch a movie - with a friend now working in the UK to watch Star Trek - I bumped into not one, not two, bit three patients of mine! Forgive me for being wary this time around, especially when I bought for a seat for one, on Valentine's Day. Not sure what they will make of it.

I wanted to watch 'Sanctum', but unfortunately it was not out yet. I had to settle for 'The Green Hornet' instead. It was a good way of killing time kind of movie, but two hours were stretching it a bit. I wad bot used to reviewing movies, so I should not start today. Put it this way, it was not a movie to take your Valentine date to, if you know what I mean.

Sure was a great day for an outingWhen we met up after the movie - and lunch - Anita got most of the stuffs she needed for the weekend's party. Before long, it was time to pick Idlan up from school. A long but fruitful day - at least for Anita - it was. As for tomorrow, I think I will spend a few hours in the morning - weather permitting - to wall around Pudu, and maybe around Petaling Street with my camera. I feel that the 7D need sone loving ....

Happy Lunar New Year

Happy Lunar New Year. Of all people, I bumped into my boss and her family when we were at Bangsar Village II earlier, and that was what I wished her when she was handing over some ang pow to my boys. Of all people.

I started the day with taking my Mum to see the Opthalmologist on call at UMMC. She has been been having eye pain for the last week, initially thought to be due to infection she got from Imran, my nephew. A few months back, she had an injury to the eye. While gardening, one of the leaves whipped into her eye causing a small abrasion. Since then, she had always been feeling some discomfort there. I brought her in on Monday and one of my friend confirmed that the abrasion was back. The infection made it worst. In the last couple of days, there was a layer forming on the eye causing the infection to stay. For the last couple of days, the Opthalmologist had to remove the layers by waging the eye. She will need another wash tomorrow.

Is it Ben 10 .... or Ben 10?Daddy wants this

After I was done with Mum, we went out for lunch in Bangsar. That was where I bumped into my boss. After lunch at La Bodega, we went for a walk at Bangsar Village, and then Mid Valley Gardens. What was apparent was the mall was empty. Driving back home only took 15 minutes across town. There were hardly any traffic. Parking was easy. I wish that it was like this everyday. But that would not be fun wouldn't it. KL minus the traffic will never be the same!

Breakfast at La Bodega

A couple of months ago, Anita went out with a friend who was holiday from the UK and ended up having breakfast in Bangsar. After looking around, they decided to try La Bodega. It was a well-known tapas bar chain, and I did not realise that they serve breakfast. She could not stop raving about the breakfast there and since I was free this morning - while I was still on holidays - I decided to try it.

The interiorMy egg BenedictEgg Benedict no moreMy God, it was great. I ordered egg Benedict with smoked salmon, with sauteed mushrooms, and had a double expresso to go with them. The egg was well-cooked, the bread toasted just the way it should be, the smoked salmon was succulent and the mushroom was gorgeous. The expresso certainly added zing to my morning.

Should you guys visit Bangsar during the morning and was wondering where to have breakfast, do give La Bodega a try. They certainly know how to serve breakfast.

Catching up with an old friend

It has been a while but I bumped into an old friend @Elviza at Starbucks in Bangsar earlier today. It must have been a couple of years since my wife bumped into her, and we stopped to chat for quite a bit.

The boys got up early following an early night last night. I managed to wake up at 5 am to catch the second half of United's match against Stoke. After getting the boys settled down, we went for breakfast at La Bodega in Bangsar. More about that in my later post.

On the way back to Bangsar Village, we bumped into @Elviza. She was trying to stop smoking, and we had a long chat about that. Apparently she had a friend who recently passed away due to a suspected heart attack at the age of 36. That clearly shook her. She managed to go cold turkey a couple of times before but picked up the habit due to friends. My feeling was, it was all down to determination and how badly she wanted to quit. She should take a lesson from her friend's teeny passing to motivate her.

I was actually back at Sri Utama waiting for Puan Anita. She dripped by to see how Idlan was coping for lunch. I think she was worries for nothing, but hey, I'm only the Dad.
