Cuti Raya Day-4

The day finally came that we had to return back to Gombak. The boys were certainly not looking forward to that but with the Raya just found the corner, it had to be done.

So, the morning was filled with cleaning and packing. Not much, but enough that we required a couple of trips hauling all the gears across. First thing was to get the boys back to Gombak, and our maid to start unpacking. Anita and I then returned to the apartment for the second time, making sure all the stuffs were taken back.

At Taman MelawatiThe cempedak looked tempting! We then went about getting food for berbuka. Today, we went to Al Rawsha. Anita was craving for chicken mendy. Will blog about that afterwards. Next stop was pasar Ramadan at Melawati as usual. That was mainly for the drinks. It had been a really hot day today, and by the time we were ready for berbuka, I really felt it. I was dehydrated. Pounding headache and all.

So, we were enjoying our first night back in Gombak. Hopefully, they would be going to bed earlier than what they were used to at the apartment. I need my sleep .....

Post-call Lunch

I finished my rounds extra early today as I started early after waking up. I was ready to head home well before 10 am and with the light Sunday morning traffic, arrived at Gombak 30 minutes later.

Irfan had been up and about since waking up. Refused to have his shower as usual. I missed breakfast, so I took Anita out for lunch. Just nearby, at Melawati. Some banana leaf rice. Nice .....

And The Second

A rather more civilized visit to the Pasar Ramadhan today. We cane earlier, and I though the crows was a bit less. I knew that some actually took the first day of Ramadhan off work to settle in.

I managed to explore the stalls a little bit. Found more of my usual favourites. Recognized a few of the vendors since last year. Surprisingly they recognized me as well. After picking up what I wanted, we left the place, got what we wanted in less than half an hour.

Gulai kawah

That funny blue rice again .....

Sotong bakar ..... Yums!I might explore another venue tomorrow one near Keramat maybe.

Another Sunday, Another trip to Pasar Ramadhan

Pasar Ramadhan 4, originally uploaded by Haris Abdul Rahman.

This thing is kinda addictive. Fasting all day, of course you felt starving come late afternoon. All you can think about is food. It is only natural that you congregate to where food is. In my case, it is Pasar Ramadhan. Considering I will be on call tomorrow, why not?

Went to the same place again, but today, the crowd was even bigger. There were many more shops open. It may have something to do with the fact that I went there a bit later than yesterday. There was also not a mask in sight.

As a family, we decided to stay in the whole day today rather than go out. Idlan is much better today. Today would be his last day of antibiotics. Luckily Irfan was also very well. He did not develop any fever or flu. Woke up this morning buoyed by the fact that ManYoo thrashed Wigan 5 nil last night and Owen got on the score sheet. Well, Happy Ramadhan for you all.

It's Tuesday .... ties off, pink shirt day!

PD on a clear day, originally uploaded by Haris Abdul Rahman.

Irfan is much better today but both Idlan and him begun the day rolling on their bed in protest first thing. They wanted to skip school today. So Mummy let them off. She herself had a busy day since she wanted to rearange the room. Apparently she is much happier since our maid left for her break. Less headache she said.

Itul visited her in the afternoon at our house. She managed to get lost on the way in, so she arrived a tad late. The planned another meetup next Monday, an all girls outing in Bangsar. As for me, I spent the whole morning going through the dozen or so insurance claims that has been burning a hole on my desk. Since Tuesday are more a day for paperwork for me, I have decided not to wear a tie. I might as well put on my pink shirt as well. I have decided to start a trend. I'll be wearing pink shirt from now on every Tuesday. I'll try to convince a few of friends to do it as well, especially Jimbo!

This week, it is the Haematology Unit's turn to present during the lunchtime CME. Habibah was the one assigned to supervise it and she covered 'multiple myeloma', very well I thought. I then spent the rest of the days seeing my trial patients and referrals.

I can't however miss to notice that the nurses were keen to move people out of the surgical ward. Apparently there was an accident not far from the hospital where a bus full of people swerved off the highway ramp into an underpass. There were a number of injuries but from what I heard there were no casualties. However, the Casualty and the Orthopedicians were kept busy I am sure.

The highlight of the day however comes during dinner. We had dinner at one of our cousin's new place in Taman Melawati. It was a corner lot superlink three story house, and it was gorgeous and chic. My boys spend the whole evening running around initially in, then in the lawns. Our cousin sent a fortune on internal decor and renovation and it tells. When it was finally time to go home, both Idlan and Irfan were upset. Irfan quite literally said, "I want to shoot you Daddy!" Too much violence in the children programs nowadays methinks!

p/s: The picture above was taken during our last Labour Day break in Port Dickson. Such gorgeous day!
