Aku Bapak Kau!

A rather witty twist to the legendary tagline "I am your father". Found this T-shirt a couple of weekend back while I was at Great Eastern Mall sold at a stall by the main foyer. They do selection of those, with the current monthly flavour being Star Wars.

I decided to go with this one though. The company was worth plugging for, where you could find more about them at onenationfitsall.com.

Better than Expected

A week late, but we were not disappointed. I was talking abut Star Wars here. After a week of long days and regular calls, I finally had a free evening on Xmas Eve. The original plan was to go out for dinner. A quick look online and there was a show just 45 after.

We rushed through dinner after grabbing the last few seats - it was the third row from the front. Got ourselves settled and we're mesmerised from the opening credit.

I was sat with Idlan and I could here him gasping and punching the at the key moments. He also recognised the old character of the franchise as well as the ships and the locations. He was completely enthralled right through the end.

And yes, he was really into the plot twists and turns. Easily the best movie we saw this year - the best prior to this for me being a toss-up between The Martian and Hitman.

Highly recommend regardless of either you were a Star Wars nerd or otherwise. Couldn't wait for the next instalment of the series. Well done JJ Abrams. There was enough to move forward whole the director clearly respecting the past legacy of the film. He had certainly mastered the art of paying homage based on his work on Star Trek and the very Spielbergian "Super 8".

The Force at Mid Valley

Another two weeks before the release of all release coming to the cinema for the year. Star Wars would be back and at the moment the adverts were everywhere. Some clever, some tacky but it seemed to be a celebration coming. Just hope that the movie would not disappoint.

Mid Valley Megamall hosted a life-sized X-Wing at one of the side foyer. It cost money to enter and snap pictures at but the buzz was certainly. There was hardly a queue when I visited since it was mid week right after work. I could imagine that the line would be long at weekends.

Well. Two more weeks and counting...

Wayang Kulit at Bangsar Village

It was Halloween. Saturday it was and I spent the afternoon with Anita looking for some snacks in the afternoon. I was on call a couple of days earlier and I thought that it was a good way to unwind. There were plenty of kids and their parents roaming around Bangsar VIllage, looking for chocolates. Our boys were just not into that, they would rather stay at home.

"Hulubalang Empayar"While Anita was doing some groceries, something caught my eyes. There was a small exhibition going on, and I thought what was on show was somewhat different. It was "wayang kulit" or shadow dance, but with a twist! It was about Star Wars rather than your typical old legend like what was usually told by those puppets.

It was a great initiative and it would run for another week. The one which caught my eyes were on Princess Leia and the Stormtroopers. Not much of a narrative I was afraid. Maybe there would be a session when they would do all that. But I still thought it was well worth a visit.

Obi Wan vs Vader"Tuan Puteri Leia"

Venue? Ground Floor Bangsar Village. But it would not last for too long though ....

Interesting Read

Last weekend, we went to a bookstore as the boys wanted to read books during the coming holidays. I thought the book that Idlan picked was rather interesting.

Maybe that was what it saw in me. I never knew ......
