Now It's the Room

The nightmare continued ... and it was time for the main bedroom!

The ceiling was being sorted, and there were dust everywhere. We moved most of the furnitures out but the bed was just too big! We had to leave it be, and the builders put it right in the middle of the room, away from all their work and planned paintings ....

We had since moved to the boys rooms to sleep but we were still using the main bathroom. It was too much to move the wardrobe at the moment ....

Ceilings Done

The main living room was halfway done. The ceiling at least. Next would come the soft furnishing instalment on the living room while the ceiling work would begin in our main bedroom.

During this period, we would be sleeping in Idlan's room. Once the bedroom was done, the work will then shift to the children's room, my study and the small living area. Hopefully by time work were being done on the other rooms, our main bedroom would be back in commission.

The next month would be a bit of a nightmare as we had to move things about in the house.

Waiting for Fireworks

New Year struck right during the halftime of United playing Middlesborough, which made things rather complicated. As soon as the halftime whistle went, Anita and I went out to our balcony in anticipation of the fireworks.

Unfortunately there were more building erected since last year around the Mid Valley area - the Eco City Park - which blocked our direct view. But the rapturous sound of the firework was heard everywhere. The biggest display came from the direction of KLCC. But noticeably, there were lesser celebration this time around. The fireworks at KLCC also only lasted a mere 10 minutes. I could remember it being much longer before. I guess everybody were being sensible with the economy at the moment ...

The display at Mid Valley was less spectacular although it lasted longer. The sound was more deafening as it was only half a kilometer away from our apartment. After all was done, it was back to the football .... and a cracking game of football it was ....

The Renovation has Started

After moving into the apartment three years ago, we finally got our act together and settled for a renovation. Anita had a few ideas and managed to engage an interior decorator that suited her taste. So, the first day of renovation was today!

Cue the dust and the noise, it looked like this will go on for another month, in phases. We started out with the main living area first. By the end, the whole apartment including the maid's room would be transformed.

Hopefully everything would be ready before Irfan's birthday in February just in case he wanted a party.

Anita was under stress at the moment as the maid would be away for Xmas. The renovation would also be on hold during the holidays which gave us some respite. We might have to spend some time away from the apartment when our master bedroom were being upgraded. Hopefully that would be in a couple of weeks time ....

Another Combo

The sunshine this morning was amazing again. And before heading out to work, I decided to dust off another lens of mine, the Zeiss Distagon FE 1.4/35 for my Alpha 7R mk2. I was using my Summicron-M on Monday. I decided to have a change. I missed how easy it was to use a setup with built-in autofocus ….

After around 40 shots, I think I might just take combo out the next time I was in town. A bit heavier than my usual setup, but judging from the results, it may be some extra weight worth carrying.

The pop that you would normally see with a Zeiss lens was definitely there. The shimmering morning light certainly brought out the luminous colour of everything I snapped. Sharpness? No question about that …. So watch this space!
