Congratulations All Around

My Boss for the last seven years had just been made a full Professor. She took me and the rest of the crew out for lunch earlier today. The initial plan was to go to delicious, but judging from how they messed up our orders the last time we went over for lunch, we decided to give it a miss. After much deliberation we decided to go for Madam Kwan in Telawi. Fearing the place would be packed, we booked the table beforehand.

All was done .... burp!
We reached there in good time. All my previous tutors were present, which was nice. We caught up with news as some of them had retired. It was quite a long affair and it was way past 3 pm when we reached the ward. Then, the work piled in .......

Irfan ........

I had a long Friday and was looking forward to sit it out in front of the television for the opening event of the World Cup. But guess what? I had to take Puan Anita to KLCC instead. For what you might ask? For make-ups!

Idlan uninterested as usual

It was not for her however. Saturday will be Idlan and Irfan’s school concert and Anita was asked to ‘prepare’ them, complete with foundations and glitters. Idlan’s hair needed to be spruced up with gels and stuffs. Well, a Dad got to do what a Dad got to do. He has to get some make-up for his boys …. And the rest was history!

And sagu gula Melaka for dessertWe stopped over for dinner at Madam Kwan before going home though. Irfan had 4 bowls of rice, but he vomited them all out shortly after since he was too excited and was running around too much. Luckily, the staff at Madam Kwan was really great and got everything cleaned up without a fuss, in under 3 minutes! That was service if you asked me. Irfan did make a proper mess mind you.

Makan dulu!

Since our old maid arrived, we were able to leave Irfan with her when Idlan goes for his music school. Something we were not able to do for the last year. Unfortunately I have yet to find an outlet that has free wifi here at Wangsa Walk Mall. I have to content to use my phone for access and updating my posts.

We had to do some shopping after this as tomorrow will be Yaya's third birthday. The party starts at noon so I will not be able to get the shopping done in the morning. Not sure what to get her and where to get it from yet. I'm sure Anita knows what to do. After all, she is the master when it comes to shopping. Yes! I will be doing the paying, don't worry.

Me and Specks

Me and Specks, originally uploaded by Haris Abdul Rahman.

Spent the whole day yesterday sorting things out for the audit in the afternoon. The auditors came and went, and they are pretty pleased with things, which is great. I am sure those of you who had to endure an audit before would testify that it can be an ordeal. This particular one was for an anticoagulant study I have been conducting for the past couple of years. The auditors were from France, Korea and Taiwan. The lady from Taiwan was particularly menacing, but her boss, the Parisian guy was pretty steady and complementary. It may be just a French thing I think.

Lanyau and the othersPavillion in the evening!Anyhow, in the evening after work, I had dinner with Specks, one of my old buddy from school. He is now working for a Pharmaceutical company in London and is just back for a couple of weeks. He brought with him a couple of friends, an actor from Bristol and his girlfriend, a Medical Microbiologist from Cardiff. We had dinner at Madam Kwan in Pavillion, and we were graced by the presence of Madam Kwan herself! They had some Char Koey Teow, and so did I. Another old Terendakian also came with us, Lanyau. They are off to Cherating tomorrow morning having just got back from a weekend in Langkawi. I can see that they were all sporting a tan!

Bangsar Outing

My nephew is due for admission again tomorrow for the planned op initially canceled on Wednesday. He was penciled in for the first on the list on Monday. We decided to take him out today.

Irfan and Idlan @ Fit for 2

When we sent Irfan to school last week, we noticed a Lego workshop in Bangsar Village. My nephew being an avid Lego fan was keen to attend, hence the visit today. With the father's day coming up in the next few weeks, Bangsar Village is running a father and son look-a-like contest. Anita obviously was interested, and we duly obliged.

The cosy interior of Fit for 2Lollipop for Irfan

While waiting for the Lego session to finish, we went to a cafe in Village II called 'Fit for 2". A neat chic little place, basically with emphasis on mothers and their babies. Not only that they have a decent selection of baby food, they also have activities such as yoga over there. The furniture are very neat, with a little corner for toddlers. The joint might be difficult to find if you are not familiar with Bangsar Village II. Get the lift to the top (third floor). Yes, the one with Celebrity Fitness. It is right on the opposite end, on top of MPH. Unfortunately right opposite is the Kiz Gym .... and that's where Idlan and Irfan was headed.

We finished things off with lunch at Madam Kwan.
