To Construct

The new tower beside my ward was really sprouting up fast. There was a delay in the starting I the construction, but once the go ahead was given, things really started moving. The worry about banging sounds were also unfounded and I found that the disruption was minimal.

Since the building was taking shape right next to my ward, there was always the worry about fungal spores. We had been lucky so far. There had been no incidents.

Looking forward to the building vein finished. And that was mainly because of the promised food stalls being planned. I need proper lunch some time.

A Nice Scratch

It came as a surprise when I saw what happened to the front passenger door of my car. I couldn't believe it at first. I never had any problem with the Doctor's car park at my hospital. But there it was. A juicy looking foot long scratch on the door.

Not a particularly deep one. And I suspected the door just needed a touch-up. But it deserved a trip to the Security Office. They had a look at the CCTV but unfortunately there was none places specifically looking at where my car was parked.

There were plenty of people using short cuts passing through the Doctor's parking area especially in the morning. Couldn't say that it was here when it happened but I would have seen the scratch if it had happened before I arrived at work this morning.

Ah well. It happened some times. I told the Security folks to be vigilant as it may not be happening in isolation. Pity if the Boss' Porsche suffered the same fate ......

Come Rain Come Shine

There were rumours that the now famous glass pane at SDMC would be moved to a church in Kelang, but it had yet to happened. As a result, the place became crowded again. It was Awal Muharram today, and therefore, the place was full of devotees. At least the traffic flow was better managed. I was able to get in and out with relative ease, although to exit the car park, I had to take a turn around the hospital building.

My Hospital is Famous

I was sure most KL folks had learned about the shroud on one of the windows of the North Tower o my hospital by now. It was in the news, and this being a Sunday, the place was packed.

I came a bit late for my morning rounds today but the crowd had already started coming in by 9 am. By the afternoon, it was fever pitch. I didn't have any patients in the afternoon and was only called in at about 6. I couldn't get to the car park.

I ended up having to walk about half a mile, parking my car at the roadside in SS 12. It was gridlocked. And the crowd wasn't exactly the forgoing type. I couldn't get through and decided just to walk.

It was still full at the moment even though it was already dark outside. I was just waiting for another scan to be reported, but otherwise I was just chilling in. I just managed to retrieve my car. No dents.

I would be on call again on Tuesday, another public holiday being Deepavali. It is going to be another nightmare day, unless somebody do something about it, or the Police would come over to watch over traffic.

A Different Start

It was a lightly different routine for me for this week. I have to get to the sister hospital at Ara Damansara as I have a patient to see there. I had a few patients there before, and I find that traveling back and fro in the heavy traffic could be taxing. Therefore, I would go there first thing in the morning, and if necessary, last thing in the evening.

The hospital was however a lot different than the busy SDMC at Subang Jaya. More spacious. More relaxing. But at the moment, not geared up to my specialty. Otherwise it was a nice relaxing detour from an otherwise routine morning.
