Movers Were In

Anita certainly has had a busy day. She had to organise the transfer of some of the stuffs from Cemerlang House and parked some of the heavy furniture at the apartment. That took some doing and tonight it was finally done.

She was having some rest at the moment. Deservedly so. The main living area still pooled pretty bare as we left it so for the upcoming kenduri. We put the new and the old dining tables at the same corner while the corridors were almost filled.

Some of the old kitchen utensils and chinas were also brought over, now needing some cleaning. It had to be done this week as we would be away to Fraser's Hill Next week and our maid going on her Xmas break back home.

No rest again for Anita tomorrow while I would be on call.

On Guard

Early last year, there was a spate of break-in at Taman Setia, forcing the residence to band together and employ the local RELA troupe to act as security guard full time. As a result, the entrance were blockers and card were issued with stickers and those without them were given visitors pass to come in. Since then, the number of break-in has been cut down to a big fat nil, even though somebody did try to jack our car parked outside last months. Luckily, the alarm went off and the thieve we're sent scampering.

However a couple of weeks after that, my brother's house at Taman Cemerlang which was right next to ours, was broken into. He was away overseas and we did not actually stay there. As a result, a lot of things went missing, and we only realized that the property were entered a few days after. In the weekend following that, the neighbours reported suspicious activities going on around the area especially during weekends. Last week, we got a cousin of ours to stay there until we got a permanent solution.

We decided in the end to employ security guards for both houses, and the contract started tonight. We spent half an hour orientating the guards about what to do, as well as giving them a set of keys for the gate. We were hoping that they would be no more attempts from now on, as we still have some stuffs, mainly our old clothes and things from the UK still at the house. Even though they were not that expensive, but the thought of somebody entering your properties never rested easy on my mind.

Home Alone

Woke up this morning with a touch of myalgia and sore throat after a restless night. I just couldn't get comfortable despite going to bed at around 9pm. Still woke up tired. Aching everywhere. Since I had to go see my Mum - she was travelling to Desaru with her UMNO friends for the weekend - I decided to just ignore things and got myself up. After visiting my Mum and arriving at work, the tiredness just got worst. A slight temperature and I took some paracetamol.

Saw a couple of patients who needed sorting out and when I walked into the transplant unit, I felt that I had no energy left. And that was only 8.30. Unfortunately in the last week, I was in contact with a couple of cases of "the flu", so I thought to myself, be sensible, don't be a hero.

Got some advise from my ID colleague. I was sent for a throat swab and asked to leave work and quarantine myself. A quick discussion with Puan Anita, and it seems that I will be spending the weekend alone at our Cemerlang home. The plan for chilling and outing with the boys wet out the window. We were planning to go to Bangsar and then the Bird Park tomorrow. I was also given "the drug" if I were to get worst later in the day.

So, I was back home before noon after sorting out some paperwork and discussing about patients with my colleagues. I watched a couple of movies - Vantage Point with Dennis Quaid and Forrest Whittaker was quite good. Not sure what the plan will be for later since my WiMAX unit was at the other house. Will need to boot up the E71 into a base station then.
